SOMALIA

Somalia is located on the Horn of Africa and is bordered by Ethiopia and Kenya. Even though Somalia may not be the most recognized country on Earth, it has a rich history that many people don't know exists. During the colonial period, Somalia was broken up into five different Somalilands. British Somaliland was located in the north, French Somaliland in the east, Italian Somaliland in the south, Ethiopian Somaliland (also known as the Ogaden), and the Northern Frontier District of Kenya. Due to imperialism in Somalia, most Somalis have a combination of British, Italian, or French in their culture. Somalis speak English, French, Italian, Arabic, and their own language known as Somali. Today, Somalia remains a violent, unorganized, suffering country. Despite having virtually no functioning government and major humanitarian issues, Somalia is trying its best to reshape themselves and improve themselves. All of this turmoil started somewhere in, and that turmoil started with the imperialism of Somalia.
